Bio

Hunter Bergman is a creative on the rise. His passion for music has led to performances at the historic Blues Alley in Washington D.C., the Telluride Jazz Festival, and overseas festivals in Cuba, Switzerland, France, and Italy.

He earned a Master of Music in Jazz Studies from the University of Northern Colorado (2021), and a Bachelor’s degree in Guitar Performance from Utah State University (2019), in addition to teaching at both universities aiding in directing ensembles, private lessons, and instruction for music theory and history.

Beyond academia, Hunter was selected as a finalist in the 2018 international Wilson Center Guitar Competition. In 2021 he recorded his five part composition Homestead inspired by the American West. The 2023 album Self Talk is a solo acoustic set of ten genre-spanning originals evoking Hunter’s modern jazz, folk, blues, and rock influences.

Hunter has performed throughout Los Angeles, Utah, Idaho, Colorado, and Wyoming. Steeped in tradition and with an eye toward the future, Hunter has introduced his impassioned style and distinctive voice to LA and the world at large.
